Azri Yunus is a multi-award-winning film composer and the visionary founder of Singa Tidur Production. Renowned for his ability to weave complex emotional narratives into cinematic soundscapes, Azri has become one of the most influential voices in modern Malaysian film music.
At the 34th Malaysia Film Festival (FFM 34), Azri achieved a rare and historic milestone by securing two simultaneous nominations for Best Original Score. He ultimately took home the prestigious trophy for his work on the e-sports biopic Soloz: Game of Life, while also being nominated for the blockbuster animation Ejen Ali The Movie 2: Misi Satria.
A Legacy of Sonic Innovation
Azri is perhaps best known as the “sonic architect” of the Ejen Ali universe. His long-standing collaboration with WAU Animation has produced some of the region’s most iconic musical moments, including the score for the 2019 smash hit Ejen Ali The Movie (FFM 31 Nominee) and its 2025 sequel.
His signature “Electronic-Orchestral” style—a seamless blend of high-octane modern synthesis and the rich, emotive textures of traditional Malay instruments—has defined the identity of various high-profile projects. From the epic historical scale of Pendekar Awang: Darah Indera Gajah to the pulse-pounding energy of Rimba Racer, Azri’s music is designed to be the “invisible character” that guides the audience’s heart.
